10:00 am - Boys Fall Asleep for First Nap, Put in Load of Laundry, Make Beds, Put Sophia in The Bathtub
10:25- Get Sophia Out of Tub, Dress Her, Comb Hair and Fix Her Morning Snack, Continue Laundry, Unload Dishwasher
10:45- Boys Asleep, Sophia eating snack... Hurry to Get Myself Dressed, Combed Etc
10:50-Boys Awake--- So much for Combing My Hair!
11:00am-Feed Boys and Get Them Changed and Ready to Go
11:25- Prepare for Outing to Park- Pack Picnic Lunch, Get Toys, Blankets, Sippies, Stroller, Extra Bottle, Bug Spray Etc
11:45- Put Both Boys Into Carseats and Lug Each One Out to the Car, Corral Sophia into the Car and Strap her into Carseat, Drag All Previously Prepared Items for Picnic Outing and Put in Car
11:50- Drive Approx 2 Miles to Park. Arrive. Unload Lunch, Blankets, Toys, Double Stroller, Put Shoes BACK ON Sophia, Pull Boys Out of Car Seats and into Double Stroller
12:05pm- Find Shady Spot, Arrange Picnic Blanket, Food and Toys, Pull Boys out of the Double Stroller and onto Blanket, Open Up Juice Box for Sophia
12:06- Sophia makes announcement that she needs to "potty"... and not the potty that can be done behind a tree at the park. No Public Restrooms, Porta Potties, Convienance Stores within Walking Distance
12:07- Put Boys Back In Double Stroller, Pack Up Lunch, Toys, Blankets, Put Shoes back on Sophia AGAIN and Race to the Car... Pull Boys Back Out of Double Stroller and into Their Carseats, Strap Sophia into her seat and hit the gas hoping to make the 2 mile drive home without any accidents
12:20-Arrive Home. Unload Lunch,Blankets, Toys, Boys from thier car seats, shoes back on Sophia.. you get the picture
12:24-Sophia asks if we can "PLEASE go back" to the park!!!
12:34-Stop laughing long enough to get Sophia her lunch, the boys fed then changed, the laundry finished and the kitchen swept
1:05pm- All three kids napping, Finally sit to eat my "by now" soggy Ham, Lettuce and Tomato Sandwich. Breath a sigh of exhaustion relief and pray that the afternoon naps are nice and long!

And They're Off!
For some reason I thought we had more time left... more time to REALLY babyproof the house, more time to enjoy putting the boys somewhere to return just a few moments later to still find them in that same spot, more time without having to mop the floors every day. Seems as though the boys had different plans. Over the last few days they have been "traveling" everywhere!
Alex learned to full on crawl a few days after his six month birthday and has since been after Sophia and all her toys with complete determination and enjoyment. If she's sitting on the rug across the room, he's there pulling on her hair or trying to roll into her pillow. If she's holding a toy in her hand it's all I can do to stop him from lunging at it. And although he's throughly enjoying tormenting his older sister his favorite trick it seems is quickly sneaking from room to room. Yesterday I placed him in the living room and turned my back on him for just a minute to go a retrieve Max from his crib. By the time I was out of their room Alex had made it into the kitchen and was sitting very proudly under the table! The funniest part of it all is how strange it looks to see a baby so small crawling. He's little for his age and closer in size to a four month old but evidently size has little to do with the desire to explore!
Max, while not yet crawling, has developed his own style of getting from place to place. For the most part rolling gets the job done but on occasions when he spots something and rolling won't get him there fast enough he employs another unique strategy of moving himself into a triangle of sorts and then "hops" his body along using his legs to propel him along the tile quicker. He also tries what looks like a swimming motion to scoot along but it usually isn't as effective and he soon ends up marrooned on the carpet somewhere. Watching Alex get around smoother and faster will likely motivate him to pick up crawling soon too... no letting the Little Guy show him up!
I've heard from other twin parents that the real fun starts when both babies become active and moving in a hundred different directions.
Let the games begin!

To My Amazing Wife on her Birthday!
My love, what can I say about you that could possibly give you all the warmth, love, respect and admiration that you so richly deserve? Let me start with I love you more than I ever thought was possible. Before you came into my life I was always a happy sole, but longed to meet someone who could challenge, inspire and fulfill all my hopes and dreams. You have done this and continue to do so everyday. You smile lights up my world every single time I even catch a glimpse of it, to the point where I always want to drop everything and just hold you close to me.
One of the more ironic things about this desire is how you typically don’t like to be touched our caressed in this way, which makes it even more exciting each time I have the opportunity to hold your hand or just be near you.
I began this post thinking I should do a top 27 list such as you so wonderfully did for me on my 34thbirthday, but providing you only 27 reasons I love you doesn’t seem justified. Happy 6 Month Birthday Boys!
Alex,
My oldest son and littlest baby, having you enter our lives just six short months ago was one of the greatest joys we have been blessed with. Since that time you have grown from a tiny, sensitive newborn into a gentle, patient but amazingly active little guy. We are constantly surprised with how quickly you master new skills (especially when it comes to traveling across the room to grab whatever toy catches your attention!) and love watching your curiousity grow as you encounter new people and experiences. There is often a look of mischief and excitement in those big brown eyes of yours that make me wonder just what fun we'll have as you enter toddlerhood! And although you always seem to be on the move, there is a calm, easy going aspect of your personality that allows you to patiently sit and examine a new face, object or situation with the attentiveness of a little scientist. You have forever stolen our hearts with your gentle brown eyes and sweet baby curls. Our lives would be empty without you. We love you Alex!

Our youngest baby (by fifteen minutes!), having you enter our lives just six short months ago was one of the greatest joys we have been blessed with. You are in two words: sunshine personified. Your bright, happy smile and cheerful personality bring joy and laughter into our lives each day. We love listening to you burst into nonstop giggles (which you do most often while watching your big sister act silly) and can never get enough of the bright, beaming smile you easily share with everyone. Although you seem to be filled with curiosity and awe at all the new surprises in your ever expanding world, you are most content taking it all in from our arms while being cuddled, hugged, kissed, and especially tickled. You are our own little teddy bear, our charming little flirt. Our lives would be empty without you. We love you Max!

As wonderful as it's been watching you both grow into your little personalities over the last half year it also makes me sad to know just how fleeting your baby days are. Could you slow down just a little and let me rock you awhile longer, give me time to enjoy your warm, sweet baby smell. Let me sing to you and watch as your little eyes light up at the sound of my voice. Let me kiss your soft baby cheeks and play with your tiny toes while I still can, for each day you move a little further away from being my babies and that much closer to being the little boys you'll soon grow up to be.
